Biography
Sue McFadden, with husband Dave, and their children have lived in Mississauga for the past 35 years. She is a life long learner, graduating from Sheridan College in Marketing, and Ryerson University in Training & Development. Sue has earned her diploma in the Municipal Administration Program and the Certified Municipal Officer designation. Sue has also recently completed her MBA.
Sue worked for Bell Canada for 17 years at the senior management level, then as a School Board Trustee for the Peel District School Board for 6 years.
In her 6 year tenure as a Trustee, Sue served during the largest expansion the Peel Board had ever experienced and also during the biggest reformation of curriculum, collective bargaining and funding by the provincial government. While on the Peel Board, Sue was an active member and Chair of the Physical Planning and Building Department. During her tenure she successfully built nine new schools and ten additions in the community.
Her track record has garnered her a reputation of a "Woman of Integrity" who delivers results based on community consultation and input.
Councillor Sue McFadden's commitment to public safety is evident by her approach and dedication to Safe City Mississauga. Having sat as a Director for seven years and Chair for three years, she continues to push forward the efforts of our City, community and exceptional police department.
Councillor McFadden continues to be actively involved in the community. She is a Rotarian and past president of the Meadowvale Rotary Club where she is also a Paul Harris Award winner.
Councillor Sue McFadden has made a promise to Ward 10 to be transparent, accountable and approachable. The Councillor is committed to the residents of Ward 10: a proud past and a promising future!
Ward 10 is a very diverse community and welcomes families from all over the world. Of course, together we must work to bring inclusive, quality programming and resources to our residents.
Councillor Sue McFadden is proud to represent the City of Mississauga and the Region of Peel each and everyday. Having the expertise, strength and passion of City Council to guide her through, we are confident in her success.
