Region of Peel Offers Landscaping Consultation Services
The Region of Peel offers a free Fusion Landscaping consultation service to its residents by visiting their homes and giving specific design suggestions for their gardens. As the 2011 consultation program spaces fill up quickly, residents are encouraged to register on the waiting list for next year's Fusion Landscape Consultation program.
Workshops
The Region of Peel, in partnership with Sheridan and Humber Nurseries, have designed a series of workshops to educate residents on how to create a stunning oasis by converting their existing front or back yard lawns into beautiful gardens using eco-friendly plants. Six workshops have been scheduled for 2011.
Rain Barrels
In an effort to promote efficient use of outdoor water and alternative use of storm water the Region offers rain barrel sales to residents in Peel; specifically Mississauga and Brampton. Rain barrels address the water efficiency component of storm water management however; storm water water management (i.e. retention systems) continues to be the responsibility of the local area municipalities. The use of rain barrels is encouraged through the Fusion Landscape Consultation program.
