2012 MiWay Guide
To help support the City of Mississauga’s strategic goal of promoting a green culture, Transit Division has re-named and will modify production/distribution of its semi-annual, printed paper map beginning January 1, 2012.
Partners and customers can expect the following:
- Printed paper map will be known as ‘miGuide’ (formerly miRoutes)
- Printed paper map will be available for $2 each available January 30, 2012
- Printed paper map will be available for purchase through the City’s online e-Store (http://www.mississauga.ca/store) and at the City Centre Transit Terminal (200 Rathburn Road West, Mississauga) available January 30, 2012
How to get a map:
- Bulk purchases (excess of 50 printed paper maps) can be made by placing an order through the Transit Revenue section (905-615-3885) for pick up at the City Centre Transit Terminal. At the time of order, customers will be advised of their order total and, upon pick up, they may provide a cheque payable to ‘City of Mississauga’
- Individual, poster-sized maps printed on card-stock paper (the same as those posted in bus shelters in Mississauga) are available for pick up in limited quantities, but at no cost to social service agencies, education, transportation and hospitality institutions as well as civic facilities and departments. To arrange an order for pick up, customers may contact MiWay Customer Service at 905-615-INFO (4636) or (miway.info@mississauga.ca)
Electronic tools:
In addition to paper route maps, MiWay offers many electronic tools that make it easy to access transit route and schedule information in different ways. The options include our traditional website (www.miway.ca), our award-winning mobile website (http://m.miway.ca) and Citylink (905-615-4287). These environmentally-sustainable tools offer the most up-to-date information and are free to use.
These tools help support MiWay’s focus on delivering excellent customer service by providing customized information that includes departure times and bus stop locations. This additional service information cannot be included on the printed paper map due to space constraints, and, if a route change occurs, the information on the printed paper map will not be up-to-date.
Customers can also access transit service information on the new MiWay iPhone/iPod application, which enables customers to view interactive route maps on an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch. The app is available for $1.99 through the Apple iTunes Store; the features include:
- Locate the nearest bus stop using GPS
- View scheduled departure times - anytime, anywhere
- Display individual route maps in Google Maps
- Search for specific bus routes and stops
- Save your favourite routes and stops
- Use most features without an internet connection
