War of the Wards for the United Way

The War of the Wards is back for a fourth year and we need YOU to help us defend our title as Most Fanatical Ward in the city! We’ve won this competition two years in a row thanks to your enthusiastic support! This year’s “war” will be quite different than in year’s past, but I know we have it in us to win the trophy again.

  • Family Day Game: Monday, February 19, 2018 – 2 p.m. at the Hershey Centre

City Councillors are partnering with the Mississauga Steelheads and the United Way of Peel to offer a unique opportunity for you to see some future NHL stars battle on the ice while supporting those who battle the effects of poverty every day. Here’s the deal…

For $15, you get:War of the Wards trophy

  • A ticket to the Steelheads’ annual Family Day game
  • A custom T-shirt
  • The good feeling you get when you give to a worthy cause (the entire $15 will be donated to support the City of Mississauga’s annual United Way campaign)

and, as a special incentive for Ward 10 residents only:

  • complimentary ticket to the Ward 10 Steelheads Game on Sunday, March 18, 2018
  • The assurance that you helped our Ward win the Most Fanatical Ward trophy again!


Tickets are $15 each. Place your order by e-mail to: sue.mcfadden@mississauga.ca. Be sure to include the preferred T-shirt size for each ticket ordered. Tickets and T-shirts are limited; we cannot guarantee the T-shirt size you request will still be available. Order no later than midnight on Wednesday, Feb. 14 to be counted in the War of the Wards friendly competition. You can pay for and pick up your ticket on Game Day in the Hershey Centre main entrance foyer between 1:15 and 1:50 p.m. Look for the War of the Wards table.
