I am very pleased to share that the tender for Lisgar’s third of four pumping stations was awarded with construction expected to begin on or after May 5, 2025. Similar to the first two pumping stations further north along the Sixteen Mile Creek, this significant piece of infrastructure will be designed to remove water from the trunk of the Foundation Drain Collector sewer system, creating more capacity in the FDC laterals and reducing the likelihood of surcharging that causes basement flooding during large rainstorm events. The location of this third station is south of Doug Leavens Blvd in the green space east of the creek. A public notice will be distributed in mid-April to neighbouring homes. The successful bidder is Clearway Construction Inc., the same contractor that built the first pumping station at Cactus Gate parkette near Black Walnut Trail. This third pumping station is expected to become operational in the summer of 2026.
