Community Centre Update

Progress on the construction of the new Community Centre and Sports Park continues to move ahead. The massive staircase that will be an architectural feature of the building’s interior was delivered last month. With the roof, plumbing, electrical and steel structures almost complete, the push now is to get the building water tight before the winter sets in. Beautiful summer weather wasn’t able to completely make up for the terrible winter we had last year resulting in an overall construction schedule that is tracking slightly behind. We are still aiming for a dome opening in the fall of 2020 to proceed with winter recreation activities in that space but public occupancy of the building may be a few months later than first forecast.
