Derry Road Re-Paving and Lane Reductions

Paving of the top asphalt Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 5-7, during daytime (weather permitting) for the section of Derry Road from Hwy 407 to Danton Promenade. Our contractor is planning to start switching traffic from one direction to the other at around 7:30 AM. The paving operations will run between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, this will allow our contractor a 10-hr working window which will significantly increase their production. With this proposal, there is no doubt that there will be a significant traffic impact to the commuters on Derry Road, but due to fast approaching cold weather and drop in temperature during night time, we have no choice but to pave during daytime to enable completion of this section of the works before winter.  (For the section of Derry Road from Argentia Road to Financial Drive, we will put down base asphalt shortly after and depending on the weather we may reschedule the top asphalt and restoration works next spring.)
