The building of 124 detached homes on the vacant land fronting Lisgar Drive just north of Doug Leavens Boulevard continues, with site servicing commencing this fall. This underground work will connect sewers and pipes to the existing sanitary sewer system which runs under Lisgar Drive in the road right of way. A temporary road closure is required in order to complete this work.
Beginning on or around Tuesday, October 14, Lisgar Drive will be fully closed to through traffic between Doug Leavens Boulevard and Beacham Street for approximately three weeks. Local access only will be permitted to residents who live within the affected area. The detour route will be Ninth Line between Doug Leavens and Beacham.
Miway Route #39 Britannia will be impacted by the closure and approximately three bus stops will be out of service. Transit customers are encouraged to check the app for schedule and stop adjustments. Miway Notice
Area schools and the school transportation consortium have been contacted and are/will be communicating adjustments to students through their parents as needed.
A letter from my office is being distributed to the immediate area during the week of October 6 and a mobile sign is being placed on the property 10 days in advance of the closure to notify the surrounding community. If you normally use Lisgar Drive, please take into account the detour, or an alternate route, and give yourself enough time to reach your destination.
